Arden’s 19-member investment team specializes in primary research on hedge fund managers, portfolio construction and risk management.

As part of our investment process, members of the team source managers and generate original reports that become a part of Arden’s vast digital library. They conduct due diligence on managers, using documented multi-step evaluation procedures. Once managers have been approved by Arden’s 4-person Investment Committee, the team constructs portfolios using optimization criteria designed to emphasize the quality of expected returns and to avoid over-reliance on backward-looking return data. The team also conducts stress tests and continues to monitor investments using a sophisticated risk management system with early warning detection of negative trends. These processes have been developed over many years and capture both qualitative and quantitative inputs that are applied to a rigorous decision-making framework.
